Meet Mary Asselstine

Rooted in Community

Mary Asselstine has proudly called Schomberg home since 1985.

She and her husband chose King Township for its rural charm, strong sense of community, and quality of life. They built their life on Main Street, raised their family and became deeply involved in local community life.

For decades, Mary has been a volunteer, organizer, advocate and community builder- working alongside residents to strengthen local organizations, support events, and create opportunities that benefit the whole community.

  • BSc Trent University- Physical Geography & Ecology

  • MA York University- Geography (Storm Water Management & Water Quality)

She has also been recognized for leadership in conservation, volunteerism, and community service by the Township of King, the Lake Simcoe Region CA and Canadian Wildlife Federation.

I had the pleasure of working with Mary for four years on Council and saw how she advanced priorities to the benefit of Ward 4 and the Township as a whole. There are important complex decisions ahead which will shape the evolution of Schomberg and Pottageville for years to come. It is vital to re-elect Mary Asselstine so that she can continue delivering practical, community focused solutions for you.
